Your 6pm glass of wine still feels like a treat.

But lately it also feels like a requirement.

A 5-week, self-guided reset to find out what's ritual, what's relief, and what's just become automatic.

The Part You Don't Say Out Loud

You tell yourself you'll skip it tonight. You don't.

It's not every night, and it's not really about getting drunk. It’s about taking the edge off. The glass that makes the stress of the day finally let go. The thing that makes you feel normal at the barbecue instead of the one person explaining why she's not drinking.

You know you'd feel better in the morning. You know it. But at 5:00pm, when the workday is winding down and you’re wanting to just relax or shake it off, that knowledge doesn't stand a chance against the pull. You can already imagine those first sips and the relief they bring.

Here's what nobody tells you: that pull isn't a willpower problem. It's a ritual your brain has learned, reinforced by years of "this is how I unwind" — and rituals don't get broken by trying harder. They get broken by understanding what they're actually doing for you, and building something that does the job just as well.

That's the whole premise of this program: no judgment, no shame — just learning what alcohol is actually doing for you, so you can decide what to do about it.

That's what this program is for.

WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS

Take a Break From Alcohol is a 5-week, self-paced course built for women who are still working, still parenting, or still showing up for everyone — and who are quietly wondering if alcohol has more control over their evenings than they'd like.

This isn't rehab. It isn't AA. It isn't a program that requires you to decide, right now, that you'll never drink again.

"It wasn't judgmental — it just helped me pay attention to how I'm feeling and how small changes can make a big difference." — Program Participant

It's a structured, evidence-based reset:

Week 1

PREP

Understand your specific relationship to alcohol (not a generic one), map your personal rituals and triggers, and build your toolkit before you need it.

Weeks 2–5

4 WEEKS WITHOUT ALCOHOL

Supported, week by week, with the information, prompts, and substitutions that make it actually doable — not just white-knuckled.

By the end, you won't just have "made it through a month." You'll understand exactly what alcohol has been doing for you — stress relief, social ease, a marker between work and rest — and you'll have real alternatives for each one, plus clarity on what you want your relationship with alcohol to look like going forward. That might mean moderation. It might mean something else. That's your call — this program gives you the self-knowledge to make it deliberately, instead of by default.

WHO THIS IS FOR

  • You're not looking for a diagnosis or a label — you just know something feels off

  • You've tried "just not drinking tonight" and it hasn't stuck

  • You're worried about feeling left out — alcohol is the social glue in your friend group, your family, your unwind-after-work routine

  • You want to feel clear-headed and in control again, but the evening pull is stronger than your morning intentions

  • You're busy — you need something you can do on your own schedule, not another appointment

WHO THIS ISN'T FOR

This program is educational, not medical treatment. If you drink daily or have a history of withdrawal symptoms (shakes, seizures, severe anxiety when you stop), please talk to your doctor before starting — stopping abruptly can be medically risky, and you deserve support that accounts for that.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

13 self-paced video trainings across 5 weeks, each 10–20 minutes — watch on your own time, rewatch anytime

A spectrum-of-dependency self-assessment to understand where you actually fall — most people are relieved to see it's not black-and-white

A personal ritual & trigger inventory — identify exactly when and why you reach for a drink

A stress-relief toolkit — exercise protocols, breathwork techniques (with exact counts), mindfulness practices — matched to your triggers, not generic advice

A full substitutions guide — off-the-shelf NA options, mocktail formulas (simple to complex), and alt-soda combinations, so "what do I drink instead" is never a stopping point

Myths vs. facts training — direct, non-judgmental information that cuts through the shame-based narratives around drinking

A "what's next" framework for week 5 — deciding what an alcohol-minimal life looks like for you, without pressure to pick "forever sober" if that's not your goal

WHY THIS WORKS

WHEN WILLPOWER ALONE DOESN'T.

Taught by Dr. Andrea Grayson — public health educator and behavior-change specialist who teaches Behavior Change and Public Health Communications in the Master of Public Health program at the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine. She's the creator of the Breaking Free from Sugar program and author of the bestselling book The Sweet Tooth Dilemma.

"I appreciated listening to the same instructor throughout the program — she felt like a personal coach guiding me through, and that built trust." — Program Participant

This program isn't built on shame or sheer discipline. It's built on the same behavior-change science Dr. Grayson teaches to public health graduate students — applied specifically to alcohol, and specifically to the reality of a midlife woman's life: the after-work stress, the social calendar, the ritual that's crept from "nice to have" to "can't skip."

THE GUARANTEE

DO THE WORK, AND IF IT'S NOT FOR YOU, GET YOU MONEY BACK.

Complete Week 1 — the self-assessment and ritual inventory — and if you don't feel this program is worth continuing, email us within 7 days of purchase for a full refund. We're not asking you to guarantee a life without alcohol. We're asking you to show up for one week and see if this gives you something useful. If it doesn't, you don't pay for it.

FAQs

Do I have to quit drinking forever?

No. This is a structured 30-day break, not a lifetime commitment. Most people finish with much more clarity on what they actually want going forward — for some that's moderation, for others it's more time off. You decide, informed instead of guessing.

What if I'm not sure I even have a "problem"?

Good — you probably don't need a label to benefit from this. Most people who take this course aren't in crisis. They're just tired of a ritual running the show and want to feel like they're choosing it, not stuck with it.

How much time does this take per week?

The first week, when you’re preparing, has the most material, about 30–45 minutes of video, plus time for the worksheets, on your own schedule. The remaining 4 weeks of video lessons run 4-8 minutes.

What if I mess up and drink during the 4 weeks?

This isn't a pass/fail program. If you slip, you use the noticing tools from the course and keep going. Progress, not perfection, is the whole point.

Is this therapy or medical treatment?

No. This is an educational, behavior-change program. If you're concerned you may be alcohol-dependent in a medically significant way, please talk to your doctor before starting.

YOU ALREADY KNOW THE MORNINGS FEEL BETTER WITHOUT IT.

The question isn't whether you could feel better — you already know you would. The question is whether you're ready to figure out what's actually driving the pull, so you're not white-knuckling it through one dry month only to land right back where you started.

Five weeks. Self-paced. Built by someone who studies behavior change for a living — not someone selling you willpower.

"I thought drinking 1 drink a week wasn't impacting me. Now I can see that it was. Since I stopped completely I can see a difference in my energy levels." — Program Participant
