Overview

Hope Grove Recovery Home Program

The first Hope Grove Recovery Home, located in St. Albans, is a partnership between two non-profit organizations, Hope Grove Recovery and Step Out, aimed at providing a safe, nurturing and productive environment for women in recovery.

Our Level 3 Certified Recovery Residence will provide women in recovery from substance use disorders with a supportive and structured environment to build healthy lifestyles, develop coping strategies, and build skills for financial independence, all of which will empower them to succeed in reintegrating into the community.

Mission

To foster a safe and nurturing community where women can overcome challenges, gain independence, and thrive in their recovery journey.

Target Audience

Women aged 18 and older who have completed a higher level of care (inpatient or intensive outpatient) or areWomen who are reentering community from incarceration are on under probation or parole supervision -Women seeking a supportive community focused on sobriety and personal growth


Program Features

A safe, sober living environment that promotes healing and recovery and community connection.Personalized Recovery Plans to create tailored goals and support strategies.Life Skills Workshops: Training in budgeting, cooking and nutrition, job readiness, and time management.Support Groups: Regular meetings to share experiences and foster emotional support among residents and addressing psychological problems.Health and Wellness Activities: Yoga, meditation, and fitness classes to promote physical well-being.


Community Engagement

Opportunities for working, volunteering, and participating in local events to build connections and a support network.


Program Goals

To cultivate resilience and self-sufficiency in each resident. -To reduce the risk of relapse through comprehensive support and resources.To create a sense of community and belonging among women in recovery.


Expected Outcomes

Improved physical and mental health of participants.Successful transitions to independent living or other supportive housing.An increase in residents achieving employment and education goals.

Team

Kate Blouin is a 5th generation Vermonter who has been an RN for over 15 years. She is passionate about advocating for and building a community for people in recovery that fosters connections that empower individuals on their journey to healing. Her professional and personal experience with addiction supports a deep understanding of the challenges faced during the recovery process. She strives to create inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and supported. Kate's mission is to inspire hope and resilience through collaborative efforts, providing resources and encouragement to those seeking transformation. Together, we can cultivate a strong, supportive community that uplifts and guides each person toward their fullest potential.

Cheryl Diersch, MA has a long-time interest in women's financial independence, entrepreneurship and social justice issues. As a single mother, she started and sold her own business. Later, in graduate school, she learned to support women in the Andes with a micro-finance program. Cheryl is deeply committed to supporting women in their financial independence through skill development, social-emotional development, and community support.

Andrea Grayson, EdD, MA, CHHC teaches about behavior change and Public Health Communications in the Master of Public Health Program in the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. She brings expertise in program design and has a successful track record helping thousands of people improve their health by reducing their consumption of sugar and processed foods. At Hope Grove, she facilitates the curriculum that develops a growth mindset, financial literacy, employment skills and physical wellbeing.
